which blood type(s) would aperson needto havein order to be a universal receiver?
Answers:
A universal receiver would carry all the major blood antigens, and so not react adversely to any of those antigens if they received them in a transfusion. A universal receiver would therefore carry the A and B antigens, and also be Rh factor positive. So their blood type would be AB+.
AB+
AB positive is the universal receiver. (has the major antigens)
O negative is the universal donor. (has none of the major antigens)
AB+ like me!
AB
