Answers:
Any food can be taken with any food in moderation. All this "food combining" is a load of rubbish designed by people who want to make money from people dumb enough to be sucked into purchasing their books and products on a promise that they will "get thin" without any effort on their part.People are healthy because they exercise moderately, drink lots of water, don't smoke, don't drink excessively, stay as stress free as possible, eat what they like in moderation and ensure they have a mixed diet of non processed, non GM foods so they obtain all the nececessary nutrients that their bodies require for maintenance.Eat what you like with what you like - it won't kill you or make you sick. The only exceptions may be things like grapefruit which shouldn't be taken with certain medications as they are known to increase / void the effects (talk to your doctor about these).
I know that if you are on certain medications, there are certain food and drink you should not eat
There are quite a few things you shouldn't take with medicine, such as wine, tea, milk, grapefruit juice. In Chinese medicine, there are quite a lot of food combinations that are not recommended, because their properties contradict with each other, for example crabs should not be eaten with persimmons as this will cause diarrhoea. Not many Western people believe in Chinese medicine, (in fact, more and more Chinese people believe in Western medicine as it is more evidence based) so many dismiss those food combinations not recommended as nonsense. However, proofs are appearing for some Chinese medicine principles. It is found that a chemical in persimmons can cause the protein in crabs to coagulate, which easily leads to diarrhoea.I can't think of more examples for the time being, as I, unfortunately, used to dismiss Chinese medicine as something old-fashioned and unproved, until I realize that just because the ancient Chinese didn't have scientific evidence doesn't mean what they gathered from experience is not true.
