for most people, the best first line drug is glucophage. It doees very well in controlling blood sugar and my caue somne weight loss as well. some people cant take it because it makes them nauseated or the diabets has allready wrecked their kidneys. Avandia and Actos are also very good meds if u have the money or inurance to buy them. I put all my dm patients on glucophage first if there are no contraindications.
