Which are the psychiatric manifestations of polycystic kidney disease?

Answers:
Polycystic kedney disease is a hereditary disorder that usually manifests itself by adolescence. It ends up leading to chronic renal failure, resulting in the need for dialysis and kidney transplant. Those could both lead to stress, depression, etc. the CRF presents many physiologic problems as a result of increase BUN and creatinine levels. the elevated levels can cause a neurological depressant effect, as well as many other problems related to the nervous system.
im sure if you got a dx of this that it might make you go into depression. Educate yourself, find out exactly what it is, what causes it and talk it over with your doctor.
