I would say that nursing would provide a better income initially. A degree in biology/zoology may take time to pay dividends and take many years of training to get to the higher pay scales. I have begun training as a teacher, but there seems to be loads of biologist training at the moment. I would suggest that nursing would provide an immediate and decent wage but zoology.biology may provide options for greater intellectual challenge and financial benefit in the long term
i woul gofor zooigist cuz itkeeps your mind and soul to work
biologist
I am a Zoologist and I'll tell you now jobs are little thin on the ground. The top end may pay higher but getting there is a lot tougher.
unless you get a Phd you will find it hard to get decent pay in biology. even then competion is fierce and jobs are limited. much of the work is short term contract as it is becoming harder to get grants. At degree level biologist are amonst the lowest paid of all graduates(source Newscientist)
doing airhostess traing along with nursing will not qualify you for either job. becoming a nurse requires several years training before your registered. hospitals are cutting back on staff and many nurses are finding it difficult to get jobs.
I suggest you look up some jobs in uk online to get idea of experience and qualifications required as well as wages.
Nursing is quite heavy but rewarding. It requires dedication.Getting into it is by application, selection,go to uni for 3 years and voila! The money isn`t brilliant but at least there`s jobs(at least for now) unlike other professions where competition is quite tough.
I don't really know but I know nursing pay in the UK is not as good as it is in the US because you guys actually have a health care system that doesn't produce a 12% nursing shortage. Nursing only takes four years and you can go anywhere and do just about anything you want with it. Zoology is really hard to get into unless you get a post grad degree. If you are planning on staying in the UK I would still suggest nursing. The money isn't bad and the job rocks.
